I don't have a sheet for it, but can tell you a couple of possibly useful things:

  • The board is conveniently   🤪  located behind the kickplate. The service video shows the entire machine being laid on it's back for service, but the board does actually fit though the slot, barely when the machine is still vertical.
  • It's a normal single evaporator variable speed compressor system, so check for the normal stuff (no defrost, not frost pattern, etc.)
  • Also check the outside of the back wall for a giant ball of ice and rust. Not sure if it applies to this model but they've been having problems with the insulation, and eventually it kills the heat exchanger and causes a leak.

Terry, this unit had an error code SY EF calling out the evap fan. The customer stated that when the error code was present the fridge got warm. They would unplug it wait 15 min and plug it back in. They did that a couple of times, and it would run fine till the error came back. When I went there it was running so I don't know where to test it. I tend to want to blame the fan motor over the computer. I'm going back with a fan hoping I catch it in a failed state. any thoughts on this would be appreciated, thanks

Sorry, I don't have anything useful on this one. I've seen bad boards, bad fans, ice blocking the fan, other DC loads killing the supply voltage,  and a couple of times, corroded electrical connectors foamed into the cabinet.

Did you run it manually in service mode? It could be a bad fan, board, or wiring issue.

Test mode for the FZ evap fan has a low and hi speed, and also shows the current in the circuit when in standby, hi, and low.  This is vital to understand if it is performing per the tech sheet.

I went back with an evap fan and tested again and the fan did not run this time. I installed the new fan and wala. Thanks guys.
