Hello,

I’ve got a Kenmore side by side fridge and the ice maker does not make any ice. The water dispenser dispenses water.

I have the manual which suggests to find the power switch for the ice maker. I don’t think this manual corresponds to my model because I cannot find the on/off switch. mine doesn’t look like the one in the drawing in my manual. I’ve taken the ice maker apart but haven’t found any on off switch or anything really. My ice maker has a bin, and in the back of the freezer there’s a tube/chute that looks like it’s supposed to pour water into the bin. No water comes out of it.

I can’t seem to find ANYTHING online about this style of ice maker. Not even a photo.

pretty stumped!!

Well that is an ice bin and a picture of the front of the refrigerator. Since you asked about the ice maker let me be more specific. Let's try for a model number. Does look like a GE style Kenmore.

Looks more like a LG to me - little disk on top that the ice maker keyhole slots go into and narrow thin connector - not really familiar with the new GE but nothing like any GE I've ever seen.

Sorry for the lack of info. I’m not able to find a model number anywhere. Can you advise me where to look?

Oh. I think I may have found my problem. There is no ice maker in my fridge! Hahaha. I am a renter so I did not know anything was missing. There was ice in the bin when I moved in so I assumed it made ice at some point. That makes much more sense now. That tube is supposed to go to the ice maker. Ok. Hah.

Yes, you are missing the ice maker.

Can you get water to dispense out the front dispenser - if NO, the maybe not even hooked up to water line in the back.

Or, since this is a rental, the owner could have already been quoted a price to replace ice maker and decided for the price tenants can just freeze ice cubes in trays and put into the dispenser if they want ice.

The Model/Serial number tag should be in the refrigerator compartment on the side wall near the top or on the roof near front.
