Jenn-Air Cooktop

I am working on an older Jenn-Air cooktop, model number CVE4270W, and need to know how to access the receptacle contacts.

The complaint is the surface light will indicate power is on but the burner elements are not heating up in the cartridges. My multimeter readings indicates some voltage is getting through to the burners but not 240. Consequently, I suspect the contacts need replacement.

Does anyone know how to access the conacts?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi Steve, if this is like the ones I remember, you'll have to remove about a million and half screws around the cartridge well so you can access the receptacle. It's not really that bad a job-- a battery driver makes it go alot faster. Based on what you're describing, could very well be a bad prong in the receptacle-- it's usually visibly bad, too.

I've uploaded the service manual for this cooktop in the Xdrive; you'll find it in the Jenn Air folder.

Good Luck!
