WRS973CIDM00, Whirlpool SXS, Ice Maker in freezer door not producing ice

Had to repair broken wires located at the base of the freezer door hinge, seems to be a common fault with these models.  Six wires going to the ice maker (IM) were broken.  I repaired wires by soldiering, covered joints with heat shrink and rerouted wiring to allow proper movement.

Let the unit run on its own for a couple of days and there was no ice being produced.  Using service sheet W10751690A, performed the following tests:

44: Harvesting test;  Test seems to work (see video, if I can get it to work)

45: LPIM IM water fill test;  This works well. Tray fills with water.

46: Water dispensing; Works well. Not really associated with problem dispenser works well in normal operation.

47: Ice tray Thermistor; Able to get reading of 01, with no ice in tray and 11 with ice in tray.

48: Ice bucket detection Switch; Able to read both signals by depressing switch.

Symptoms:  If I manually fill ice tray (test 45) and leave water in tray. The unit will harvest ice but will not fill tray with water.  Noticed later, the unit will preform a harvest of the IM, even though there is no ice in tray, but still will not fill tray with water.

Conclusion: For some reason the unit is not producing the fill command to the fill valve automatically.  However, can run fill command by running test 45.

Questions:  How to determine faulty component?  Ice maker not sending proper signal to control board?  Control board not processing signal(s) from IM and sending fill command to fill valve?  Because of the readings and performance of the above tests, doesn't that indicate the wiring and components in IM are working properly?  Also that the control board has the ability to produce needed signaling to produce fill command?

Any assistance on this issue would be appreciated!

I also have gone through the Technical Training Pointer #: W10869036 and ended up at Path 3 - IM works during service, but not during normal operation:

FC door switch checked good.

Tried to do the Manufacturing Reset Routine.  Can not get Step 5) to display "-5".
