I am a service technician that ran into it Maytag it has kind of left me baffled. The common issue with some of these maytags that aren't too old is they have a bad pcb control boards. Replace the board and reprogram it with code on data sticker. I have one all these fridges inside my own kitchen they are a great fridges. But I came across one the programmed it using the code and now the UI is unresponsive there's no lights on it and the dispenser doesn't work I took the board out and swapped it with my own out of my own kitchen same issue. So I know it's not the board. I have replaced the UI still same issue. I've tried holding down the buttons you press to get into the programming but still no joy.

Does anybody have any help on this? It would be deeply appreciated.

Thank you and God Bless

What was the original issue with the refrigerator?

Posted

The original issue was that it needed a new pcb. I repaired another maytag same  problem. The UI lights would flash and nothing would work. It's a common issue with those series of fridges. You just have to program the board once you install it. The instructions that come with it say there's a couple different ways to open the programming window, then you have to put in the code that's on the data sheet. Followed the instructions to the letter, and like I mentioned I just did the same with a different fridge that was in my kitchen. I even changed the main boards and the UI boards with the one in my kitchen and it runs just fine so I know the parts are good that I installed. I even changed out the button cover on the UI. And still know lights or power to the dispenser..I've been working on fridges for years and been doing Refrigeration since I graduated Perry Tech in '07. I'm sure I'll eventually get it but I thought I would try a forum to shed a little light on what I'm missing.
