Samsung refrig RS265TDRS ice maker is dead

My ice maker (Daechang DA97-11092B) is completely dead. The test buttom does nothing, no water fill, no motor activity. How can I trouble shoot this to tell if the problem is the ice maker or the main control board. I am ignoring the water control valve, door switch (the lights come on and go off fine), and temperature (-4) for now as unlikely.

I would also like to get a full service manual, not the fast start  version.

Any ideas?

Tech documents are for paid professional technicians.

Typically if the ice maker won’t cycle it’s a bad ice maker.

Try pulling the error codes - Self Diagnosis: Press Energy Saver & Lighting buttons simultaneously (No sound when both buttons are pressed at the same time) for 8-12 seconds, until the display quits blinking and beeps. Release buttons and read Fault Codes

Thank you. Did that. The diagnositc codes do show 25E and 26E (defroster failure and water valve problem). That leads back to the water valve and possible frozen feed line (plus 25E and 26E) which I shall now check.

The ice maker is pretty primative. It only contains a position sensor chip, a temperatire sensor chip, a motor and a heating element. The smarts must be located elsewhere. That's one of the reasons I asked if there is a way to troubleshoot the main control board (other than just the error codes).

BTW some nice person read my need for a service manual and sent me one under separate cover. Special thanks to you.

Maybe with the manual I can now do some signal tracing, too.
