Kenmore model 25322042410 keeps running after replacing temperature control thermostat

Our freezer stopped working and read on here about replacing the temp. control thermostat and it started running again and is freezing fine but now it continues to run constantly. I did not get an OEM part but a cheaper one off of another site, could this be the problem?

Very possible, what is the inside temp of the freezer?

Not sure, it is freezing just fine not sure if I have anything that will check the temperature inside of it.

just checked and it is between 5-10 degrees

Mid range on the control should be about 0 deg. What is the room temp? An 80 deg room the freezer should be able to do 0 degs easy. If the room temp is near 100 degs the freezer should be able to 0 degs but will work hard.

might be closer to zero, used an outdoor thermometer and it only has numbers down so far, room is warm around 80, so probably the cheap controller?

I turned it down to midway and it shut off
