Frigidaire LFSS2312TE0 Ice Maker stopped working

Hello, this is a side by side unit. The water dispenser works fine. I tested the solenoids for both the water dispenser and ice maker water supply, and both work fine. If I take the the wire harness that leads to the drinking water solenoid, and put it on the ice maker solenoid, I can dispense water into the ice maker by pushing the drinking water arm. So no solenoid problem, no filter problem, and no supply line blockage. If I manually do this, I get ice cubes in a couple of hours, but it won’t work on its own. The solenoid is not being delivered the proper voltage, so it seems like the ice maker is not calling for water. Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Will it harvest on its own or do you have to initiate that? These are pretty simple animals. Unplug the ice maker and place one voltage meter probe in the black wire and use the other to test across to the green one. If you get approximately 125V then the ice maker unit is the issue and would need to be replaced as a unit.

If I fill the unit with water, it will harvest the ice on its own. I’ll do the voltage check and see what happens. Thanks for the reply.

I did the voltage check, and it was fine. I took the unit out of the freezer, and it appears that it IS getting a small amount of water, that makes just a few cubes. Thinking now that I may have a filter problem, and that the reduced pressure is only allowing a small amount of water to be dispensed for the time that the valve is open. I ordered a new filter and will see if that does it.

I would put my meter on the valve and initiate a harvest and look for voltage at the valve. The ice maker could have a bad contact on the timer wheel in the head unit.

It turns out that it was the filter. I put a new filter on and all is good. Thanks for the input.
