Kenmore washer model 110.45088400 errors

Having trouble with this one. Opened it up to look for a leak issue. It was the connection from the soap dispenser to water inlet (hard plastic)tube to bellow. I think I straightened that out. Then, to test, I tried to run a cycle. I kept getting f dl error. Door lock mech. I checked it out, checked connections, could not find any issues. Before that, I was getting F 06. I checked the connections to the MCU and CCU and motor. Could not find anything wrong. I tried to run diagnostics. Would not get far and f dl error..beeping.  I don't know what to do except replace door lock mech. Also...another question. Wondering the purpose of the switch, behind the lower service plate, lower right hand corner. Any help appreciated.
