KitchenAid DW Lower Wash Arm Not Spinning

I have a KitchenAid DW; Model # KDTM404ESS3; Serial # F94360128. Manufactured in 2019. In the beginning, the dishwasher was washing poorly and it appeared the lower spray arm was not moving. Water was being sprayed out of the lower washarm. I also noticed the diverter motor moving as I had marked the plastic cap on the inside of the dishwasher to keep track. Because of that, I replaced the washarm but that did not solve the issue. I then returned to replace the diverter motor. At first it leaked water through the diverter motor shaft so I reinstalled with more application of the sealant. Then there were no leaks and the wash arm worked and dishes washed well again. 2+ months later the washarm is not moving again and dishes are poorly washed. Currently water is not dripping down as it did for me when I initially installed it. I will continue to monitor that.

Would you recommend another diverter motor install paying special attention to O-ring and sealant? I know some techs replace the whole pump/motor assembly. Is this the best next step?

The diverter seal is bonded to the sump assembly and as such the only correct way to repair it is to replace the sump/motor assembly. Whirlpool had a run of bad wash motors 2-3 years ago and a pretty decent failure rate. We don't quote the sump pieces separately. If the wash pump or diverter fail we replace the whole thing. Best way to ensure you don't get a callback. That being said, have you run diagnostics on the machine and retrieved error codes to find out what the machine thinks is wrong?
