LG LFXS28968S/02 - Fridge Good - Freezer 32°

Hi all.

I've got an LG LFXS28968S/02 that's maybe 4 years old. The refrigerator seems to be fine but the freezer is only 32°.

I've cleaned the coils and the coil fan is running.

What's the first, next thing I should look at?

Thanks!

Check the inside back wall of the freezer for frost. If no frost, all fans and compressor are running it is most likely a sealed system issue.

Thanks Vance.

I'm getting error code 22 and a lot of what I read tells me this could be a bad compressor relay. If the relay was bad, could the compressor run a all?

If your talking about the blinking LED on the main board 2 blinks is a stroke trip.

Thanks all.

LG sent a tech out. He replaced the compressor and updated the software which he said is what caused the issue. It took all of 90 minutes.

Someone else said he updated the software only for the new compressor... Either way, I've got a working fridge.

If it matters to anyone having the same issue, my fridge was built 3 years and seven months ago.

Cheers!

OP here.

My fridge has been declared dead by the LG tech. The thing broke three times in one month.

I now have a case number to call LG with. They'll either give me an RA for replacement or a check for the prorated cost.

Does anyone know if they base the prorate on the depreciation? From what I see, depreciation is 6.67% per year. That would mean a check for over $1,400 for a 4 year old $2000 fridge.

That seems like a lot, but I'm hopeful.

Thanks!
