LG LDF7551ST Dishwasher flooding when running

Recommended Posts

The dishwasher begins to flood near the beginning of the cycle from the bottom of the door.  While I am sure that there could be a problem with the seal, it seems to be filling too much.

I cleaned the filter, checked where the drain hose enters the disposal, snaked the drain hose, took off the drain pump and cleaned it, checked to make sure that it ran when voltage was applied, and generally ensured that no debris was clogging anything.  Indeed, the drain pump will pump water out of the dishwasher when I hit cancel.

What should I try next?

Start the cycle, allow the dishwasher to run for 3-4 minutes to ensure complete fill, then open the door and check the water level. If the water level is up to the top of the tub front lip, then test the float switch to see why it is over filling.

If the water level is 1/2 to 1 inch below the tub front lip, then remove the spray arms and inspect for cracks or debris. Either condition can cause the water to spray directly toward the door and over flow the tub front lip.

The water is flowing up and over the tub front lip.  Does the "Sensor Assembly 6501DD2001A / AP4457564" sense the level of fill?  If so, is there a way that I can test it with a multimeter?

...Or is this the sensor I am looking for?  This one is in sump assembly.

I'm just not sure what controls the fill.

I tried replacing the two sensors I mentioned in my previous post.  Any more ideas?
