Frigidaire FPRH19D7LF1 refrigerator freezing food

Recommended Posts

This unit is an all fridge and is running too cold and freezing food.  I have set the temperature on digital display to 38F.  Internal thermometer goes as low as 21F and high as 38F.  Liquid in fridge can be at or below 32F at times.  I have replaced the main control board 297326500 , thermistor 297110400, defrost thermostat 216731001 , and compressor controller 216954210.  The unit tums on when it gets warmer inside and the set temp is reached (at different temp settings), but does not turn off and gets down to the low temps described.  Seems like it only turns off when the defrost timer kicks in (defrost timer is integrated on main control board), but I cannot prove that.  I have cleaned the coils as well. Any advice would be appreciated.

It sounds simple, but check to verify the compressor actually shuts off or if it just stays running at a low speed even in defrost mode. I have seen one do this, and after checking everything else, I checked the outlet at the wall at there was voltage, maybe 50 volts, from neutral to ground. Had the customer have an electrician check it out first. I would think it’s possible a bad electrical supply can affect the main board and inverter board somehow.

A leak in sealed system can also make these get too cold at first. Then it will warm up maybye a few weeks later.
