Maybe someone can help before I drop big dollars on a new refrigerator, and/or my Wife kills me in my sleep :)

Many moons ago I got information from the Samurai Appliance Man that my defroster was to blame for a different problem, they sent the parts and bang, back in service! I am hoping for a similar result.

Model: GE Profile Artica PSS25MGNA WW Ser# AF 402267
Issue: Refrigerator too cold, frost in Freezer starting - this just started a few weeks back

Testing:

* Initial Temp Reading (Refrigerator on 1 Freezer on 2) was temp was 32 in the Refrigerator (  I was expecting 38-42 but that wasn't the case )
* Lowered settings (Refrigerator 1 Freezer 1) and the Refrigerator Side climbed to 36 - Food starting melting in the Freezer albeit slowly
* Raised Freezer back to 2, Refrigerator at 1 and the Refrigerator dipped to 28 - the Freezer showed 9 degrees

I was unable to access the Diagnostic Mode
I have cleaned the coils, vents, checked door seals, taken temp readings etc - THOUGHTS? I am thinking a stuck damper at this point, but how to troubleshoot?

Help me Samurai Von Kenmore, you are my only hope!

The good news is the freezer and refrigerated sides remain the same after several days - Freezer on 2 (2nd warmest setting) Refrigerator 1 -

Since posting they have at least remained consistent with 9 degrees in the freezer, 30 in the refrigerator- consistency is about the only nice thing about the issue.

i know and hope everyone had a great Christmas, I wouldn’t be in here either 😉

just an update - may have to start looking this week, I like Iceberg Lettuce, just not literally 🥶

Well being the holidays it is understood -

It looks like we are trading in the refrigerator for a newer model - I love working on this stuff, but she is driving me a bit nuts, so while the freezer defroster was a slam dunk using this site, one must occasionally admit defeat.

Upside? I fixed the Dryer (intermittent door switch - cake)

Happy New Year Folks!
