Bosch cooktop NGM5456UC* Oven HBL5351uc/01

DIYer here... family friend's grandma got her 6 years old gas cooktop clicking/arcing nonstop.

symptoms:

- its clicking 24/7, flame or no flame.

- one burner dial doesnt spark, (i'm assuming this one is shorted and very likely its the problem)

I couldnt find the right model number for the cooktop(or didnt know where to find it), the oven model is HBL5351UC/01  I dont know the common match is for this oven... part of the new apartment building volume purchase units when it was new.

my question is, grandma has ok-ed to use only 3 burners, Can I just disconnect the problematic one?

appreciated.

Kinda confused sparking nonstop or is not sparking at all?

For either one of the symptoms may want to check the switch mounted on the valve.
