My 12 year old Dacor ER48DSCHLP dual fuel range large oven continues to heat beyond 500 deg after set temp of 350 deg is reached. At that point I shut it off manually. There are no error codes and the small oven works fine.

During pre-bake the bake element relay clicks on & off. At 240 deg the oven fan turns on and the relay continues to click. The oven beeps once when set temp is reached. At that point the oven temp continues to rise and there is no more relay clicking. When I manually shut it off, the oven beeps once and the relay clicks once (like normal). The oven stops heating like it should. So, I think the relay board and shutdown sequence are working correctly. I’m thinking that the control board is the issue. Instead of opening and closing the bake element relay to regulate set temp, it’s sending a signal to keep it closed.

Here are two more possibilities - for years the large oven has been slow to heat up so about a month ago I replaced the temp sensor and high temp limit switch. That made no difference. A few days later the oven circuit breaker began to trip while the oven was heating up. The culprit was the original bake element. One of the inner ribbon terminals and wire connectors were burned off and shorting out. That explained the breaker tripping and slow heating since only the outer element had been working. The new element works fine. Could the new temp sensor have been damaged by the power surge that tripped the breaker? Could the power surge have damaged the oven control board?

I welcome any suggestions as to what I should do next. I can do some basic onboard checks if I know what to look for. I have to do my own service work since there are no Dacor techs who are willing to drive out to my rural location. I have no problem sending a board out to be repaired but would like to isolate the issue if possible. Thanks for your help.
