Need help replacing thermostat in refrigerator (Kenmore 253.79253703)

I wanted to replace thermostat in Kenmore refrigerator model 253.79253703.   I remember replacing same part a year or two ago. I believe the refrigerator was manufactured by Frigidaire. This time I thought I would use an OEM part in hopes it would last longer.  I determined from various sites that the correct OEM stat is number 241537103.   I ordered same and removed old one tonight.   That is where I have run in to difficulty.     The terminals on the old one are set up differently than on the replacement.    I checked my order and found the notation that the orientation of the terminals may vary from the original.       The old ones are stacked one on top of the other.    The new "OEM" part has terminals side by side with one bent up and the other down.    One appears to have a C beside it while the other has what appears to be an L by it.    The old stat has no markings next to the terminals.

The wires that plug in to it are as follows:   2 black wires that are joined to fit over one spade    and  1 orange wire to fit over other spade.     I don't believe I have a wiring diagram and not sure if I could read it if I had it.     Want to get it right so I don't ruin the fridge.    Don't know where to turn.    Haven't been on this site for a while but it has been great help to me in the past.        Thanks in advance for any help.     Bob

You can connect the 2 terminals either way; it will work fine either way; there is no difference.

Thanks for the quick response.  I will now be able to get the fridge back in to service.    This is a terrific site. Always somebody available to help out.    Take care,    bob
