Maytag A308 Washing machine (1975) Agitator freeplay

Greetings, I have a 1975 Maytag A308.  Since I've owned it (1978), I've replaced one belt, the snubbers twice the inlet valve once and the little rubber fill tube inside the top of the tub.

This has been a very good machine and still is.  We're doing the floor in the bathroom/laundry room over and had to pull the vanity to get the washer out.  So...while it's out and I have room to work on it, I thought I'd see what I should do.  As I mentioned, it works just great.  There are a couple of things I am wondering about.   The agitator has some radial play  in it. It may just be some looseness of the plastic to the shaft.  I haven't gone any deeper than what you see in the video.   https://photos.app.goo.gl/rbXjHBbbHW6DAbLh9

It doesn't leak, so I presume the bearing and seal/gaskets are ok.  My wife thought she found a small 1 inch "oil type stain" under the motor/transmission assy when she cleaned the floor but she wasn't sure what it was and either way, it wasn't much.  That said, the machine  *IS* 48 years old.  I have been cautioned in the past not to get rid of this machine as "they don't make them like they used to".

I plan on replacing the water inlet screens and the supply hoses.  I am also going to put some screen washers in-line at the supply valves to make cleaning a bit easier.  Every time I do some plumbing in the house and have to shut off the main water, I have to clean all the aerators in the faucets.  The washing machine and dishwasher inlet valves are far more difficult.

So while I have machine out in a workable area, what else is recommended  to clean, replace, maintain?

Thanks for any input you may be able to provide.

May 80's A5910 has about the same play in the agitator.
