Samsung WV55M9600AW/A5 Washer No Tumble / No Spin

My Samsung washer seemed to have kicked a bucket but I am  hoping that there is a way to resuscitate it.

I started a load of laundry and checked back on the washer about half an hour later. The washer was off. Strange. I checked the incoming power and there was none. Dedicated 20 amp breaker was tripped. I reset the breaker, the washer turned on and I started the cycle again. One minute later there was a bang and a bit of smoke that came out of the washer in the rear. I unplugged it, let the smoke dissipate, and then plugged it back in. The front panel lit up but none of the buttons were responsive. The washer was holding my load of laundry hostage because the lid lock did not disengage. I drained all water out but the lock would still not disengage. I had to remove the front panel and get to the back of the lid lock to release the door. I then decided to figure out what burned out. It turned out it was the Inverter board. Everything else looked good. I bought a new Inverter board DC92-01378E and put it in, hoping it would fix the washer. It made things better but not quite - I am now able to select any cycle I want, all buttons work fine and are responsive, drain pump works and pumps all residual water out but... the drum only rocks back and forth to the 7 and 5 o'clock positions and no further. I can rotate it by hand no problem.

I checked the resistance of the windings at the inverter board connector and it was 12.8 ohms between all pins.

I don't know where to go from here. Should I replace the stator assembly DC31-00111A? Replace the rotor DC31-00112A? Replace both? Something else?

Thanks for reading!

Lets start at the basics, please post the serial number or a picture of the full model/ serial tag. This is to verify the part numbers.

Yes this one is fun, there are 6 versions. By serial number yours is a version 1. This is one of those dual washers so presume it is the front loader your talking about in this post. Couldn't find the inverter separate part, this is the whole assembly if i'm thinking correctly, DC92-02076a
