Are you running it with a good load of wet clothes in it when testing? I would make sure the dryer vent and lint screen are clear and then test the thermistor, which should be around 11K Ohms at room temperature. Also check the wiring to the sensor and that the sensor housing isn't broken and grounding out. If all checks out I'd suspect the board.

MGT5500FW.

Your model didn't pull up at service matters used med550fw. Is there a tech sheet inside the dryer? To enter the diagnostic mode for the electric model -

1. Be sure the dryer is in standby mode (plugged in with all indicators off).

2. Select any three (3) buttons (except POWER) and follow the steps below, using the same buttons (remember the buttons and the order that the buttons were pressed): Within 8 seconds, • Press and Release the 1st selected button, • Press and Release the 2nd selected button, • Press and Release the 3rd selected button; • Repeat this 3 button sequence 2 more times.

3. If this test mode has been entered successfully, all indicators on the console are illuminated for 5 seconds with “888” or “88” showing in the Estimated Time Remaining three- or two-digit display. If there are no saved fault codes, all indicators on the console will momentarily turn off, and then only the seven segment display will come back on and display “888” or “88”.

Think it stores up to 4 codes, to advance to the next press the "3rd" button

To exit press and hold the "1st" button

It's an MGD5500TW probably, JOB AID 8178629 covers it. But yes, let's confirm the right model number.

Using a multimeter set to DC voltage, place the test leads on the moisture sensing bars. you should be reading around 12v. If that voltage is present, the sensing circuit is functional and there is a board issue. If you do not measure the correct voltage, then inspect the sensing circuit for faults.
