Have a Liebherr upright freezer (with fridge above it). It seems to be collecting water and then freezing at the bottom.

Collects about 2 inches of water every 3-4 weeks. There is a water-feed into the ice maker but that appears to be intact and not leaking. It is a large amount of water so I am guessing it must be coming from an active water source (like the ice machine), rather than simple condensation. I have removed the plastic cover (see pic) at the back of the inside of the unit and it appears the water is coming thru the cooling coils, and freezing at that point.
Any advice is appreciated!

There is a drain under the evaporator for defrost meltoff to go. It's likely clogged forcing the meltoff into the freezer compartment. Pull the cover off the back and find the drain tube from the freezer and clean it. Then use steam or hot water to melt out the drain tray inside the freezer.

Hello.   I am working on the same thing.  They were having a high temp alarm going off. Frost on back panel and then I saw the large amount of ice on the bottom.

Steamed it all off and cleared drain then bottom drawer will not go in.  I  have to go back to try to figure that one  out.

Pain!

Make sure you mark where the screws were.  There are different holes that the screws can go in.
