"Amana" washer NTW5400TQ1 - agitator stuck (rusted?) to splined shaft

First time to replace the agitator pawls on an Amana washing machine.  Bolt was rusted in place - guessing the o-ring was leaking.  Three hands to hold the lower agitator to try to remove the bolt.  Head of bolt sheared off (nuisance - I have a small portable torch set and would heat up the washer shaft end to free the rusted in place bolt shank).  Problem is that I can not remove the lower agitator to be able to heat up the splined shaft to free the bolt.  I am presuming that the splines of the shaft are rusted and have created a high friction surface that prevents the removal of the agitator.    Any suggestions?   Replacing the agitator (new service part) may not be economically viable - I might have to scrap the washer though I dislike breaking up a matched set.

Start with patriating oil and let it soak. Next would to fill the tub with hot water and let that soak for while. Can use a strap or air bags on the base.
