GE Monogram Model ZISS420DRJSS How to get into Diagnostics Mode

I have a GE Monogram Side by Side Built-in Model ZISS420DRJSS that I would like to put into diagnostics mode.  Service Manuals I've found for similar fridges say to press the +/- buttons on both the Freezer and FF sides simultaneously until the display for both sides shows 0's.   When I try this on mine, it just generates a bunch of beeps after about 3 seconds.   I have seen someone else report the same result, but I haven't seen a solution.

The reason that I would like to get it into diagnostics mode is so I can turn on the Defroster Manually.    The problem with this fridge is that the FF side is above set temp while the Freezer side is below set temp.  On one occasion I was able to trigger the Defrost cycle and it melted all the frost between the Freezer section and FF section and then all started working normally again.

Thanks in advance for any help.
