Maytag MVWP575GW0 / C74880129 Washer: Recent 'Unbalanced' Sensitivity

Recommended Posts

Posted

Have had this washer for years. Was a bit glitchie when I first got it so I swapped out the control board and it's been fine ever since. In the last few months it has become more and more sensitive to balance during spin cycles and has triggered 'unbalanced' thumping noises and blinking red lights which forces me to force stop it, open it up and rebalance loads that in the past would have been no problem for it to do the exact same load.

Any suggestions? Are there springs that hold the tub in place that get weaker over time and might need replacing? Or ?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

I would check the legs and make sure they are all in good shape

Good idea, but legs are fine, washer is level and stable.

Test the suspension rods by pushing the tub down far as you can and watching if it bounces when released.  Replace the suspension rods.  P/N W10780044.

Just worked on one with a similar issue, with recently replaced suspension rods.... the agitator had worked itself just loose enough to cause it to spin unbalanced,
