Bosch SilencePlus 46 dBA Model Number SHS5AVF6UC/22, "Sanitized" Light Blinking With No Start

Hello Samurais:

I am requesting counsel for a situation with the Bosch dishwasher listed above:

The serial number for the unit is FD970301213. It has worked well for the time we have had it. The other day my wife went to start it. It did not.

I following the recommended procedures for immediate troubleshooting (unplugging the unit, and re-connecting it). Though it is not a portable model I have wired it to plug directly in to the power feed for quick connects/disconnects.

After the reset attempts failed, I disassembled the unit, cleaned the channels and ports (there were some obstructions which I cleared) and reassembled it. With fingers crossed, I attempted to start the machine again, to no avail. The same symptoms occurred as before.

Not long ago, the "Add Rinse Aid" light/warning ceased to function, but it did not (then) directly affect the operation of the dishwasher. Is there any relation between the "Add Rinse Aid" alert and the "Sanitized" indicator (on this model, both are red lights vertically adjacent)?

I did refer to You Tube and saw references to the lower power module (?) or the heater. That said, I consider you guys to be the last word on the subject, frankly.

Any ideas?

To date it has been a good machine.

This humble grasshopper would be most grateful for any help you can provide.

Thanks in advance,

7K

See if you can get it in too the fault diagnostic mode to retrieve any error codes.

Thanks, Vance R, for your reply.

I have attached a photo of the control panel of my model, which has no digital display of letters and/or numbers; my sole indicators are the indicator lights themselves. I did as the diagnostic suggested.

When I turned the unit on, the "Auto" light (white rectangle) blinked on and off. When pressing the ">" button, it next scrolled thru the cycles of "Normal," "Speed 60," etc. There were no error/diagnostic indicator sequences as far as I could tell.

Thx,

7K

I got hold of the Tech Sheet and have attached a scan of the code. It appears that the closest code to my error is E20 (see asterisked box). While the Sanitized light is flashing and not glowing, the Active light is not on. boschtech1.thumb.jpg.5b733a0f969cf392187be775248af176.jpg

Look like the place to start in the wash motor. Since you have the tech sheet try clearing the error codes.
