Whirlpool washer WTW4880AW1 doesn’t spin clothes out all the way

Recommended Posts

The washer spins but load is still very wet when done.  Manual tests all pass - both low and high spin seem to work - but clothes are still heavy with water when done.  Error codes are F7E1 (basket speed slow), F7E7 (motor speed), and F0E2 (oversuds).  From heavy loads like towels to light ones like sheets, all are still way too damp after load completes.

Thanks for your help!

F7E1 (basket speed slow)

F7E1 says that the main control cant determine speed of basket or speed changes too quickly

F7E7 (motor speed)

F7E7 is when basket speed sensor detects that target RPM was not reached and to

  • check for clothes between basket and tub
  • there might be a weak motor or run capacitor, no connection to run capacitor
  • load off balance. distribute clothes evenly

F0E2 (oversuds)

Run a washing machine cleaner through a clean cycle

These three error codes can be just one problem triggering multiple codes. Check if the basket spins freely by hand, if you know how to go into diagnostic's , do a tachometer test in diagnostics.

If you feel restriction when spinning the basket , remove it and see if something is stuck between the basket and outer tub.
