I hope I'm following protocol here, I had a thread going about the defroster problem which is now I believe solved but on the way there I ran into a new problem. While I was waiting for the defrost heater sensor replacement to arrive, I pulled the cover off the back of the refrigerator. Anticipating that I might have to replace the control board if this part didn't do the job. At some point with the defrost heater still disconnected. I imagine I could plug the refrigerator in and get the fridge section to cool down saving my food from completely warming up. The minute I plugged the unit in there was some arcing on what I now know is the compressor control board. I waited until the replacement part. That is the defrost heater. Temperature sensor arrived, reinstalled it and then again plug the unit in and again there was arcing on this board. I removed the board. Looks to me like it's a rectifier full wave rectifier and the arcing. Is that the top of the board as you're looking at it from my troubleshooting experience? It's rare that there are two concurrent problems, but that appears to be the case. I can't think of anything that I did along the way to cause this bridge rectifier to fail. I'm actually thinking that I can procure the bridge rectifier and replace it on the board, but I'm open to suggestions. It looks like it's a pretty common board available on Amazon and other places. The illustrated replacement boards lack the second cap that appears on the upper right section of this board. The board number is itrp 04bx1.a. thanks for your help

@Mr. Fox6000 You can try replacing ADP51B62M02 Piezoresistive Sensor on Washing Machine Control Board. If that issue is fixed with this part no need to buy new control board. Hi there, I have a Frigidaire FRFG1723AV03 that I am working on that is presenting some unique issues I haven't seen and was seeing if anyone has experienced this as well. Customer's complaint was unit was cooling intermittently. I had the customer plug in the unit to make sure it was running before arrival and it was cooling on arrival. I verified that the compressor was running and we were getting proper temperatures in both compartments. I went into diagnostics and verified unit compressor starts, the damper opens and closes, evap had a good frost pattern while running and that the evap fan was running. The last left was the control and the inverter board. I reset the unit and heard it attempt to start but it failed this time. I waited a while before attempting again and the unit did turn back on and begin cooling which was confirmed with frost pattern. My original diagnosis was a failure in the inverter board and wanted to see if anyone had an issue like this as well. I am reaching out to get the inverter replaced again but thought it couldn't hurt to see what the community thought. Thanks for any advice.

I’m working on the above 14 yo LG fridge. Compressor is running, but only pulls the low side down to about 45psi (50F). The board is putting out around 175vac to the compressor. The frequency is reading 2.33KHz; this is probably not accurate, I’m just using a cheap meter I got at Lowe’s. Is it the board or the compressor that’s bad? It’s a single coil linear LG compressor, FC75LBNA.

Hi, I'm new to appliance repair but I do have an extensive background doing electrical/mechanical work in industrial facilities. I'm good with a multimeter and comfortable with schematics. I'm currently studying HVAC/R. Learning the refrigeration cycle sparked my interest in refrigerators and freezers, which led me to the idea of doing appliance repair as a career. As of late, I've been intrigued watching as many Master Samurai repair videos on YouTube as possible, but as soon as I get the funds together I'll be taking the Core Appliance Training as my official intro into the trade.
