My fridge the other day was getting salad greens icy at back of fridge. To be honest, fridge was completely packed. This morning, freezer contents were defrosting, even though LED for freezer said -2. Clearly NOT -2 in freezer if ice cream melting. I cleared out stuff from fridge and freezer. Ran a blow dryer in back of freezer to make sure no ice. Unplugged fridge, waited, plugged back in. LED then read 46 for freezer when I plugged back in…but after a while, eventually went back down to -2. But thermometer in freezer reads much warmer. Can the ok LED temp shown be wrong? When I put my hand inside freezer, it doesn’t seem as cold as LED reading. (Inside fridge temp is same as LED reading 38) The refrigerator section seems to be working fine. How long, if freezer components working properly do I have to wait for freezer temperature to be correct? (since I’ve been constantly checking the freezer, the LED temp has risen to 1. But Taylor old fashioned thermometer inside freezer reads 30—which is 16 degrees lower than LED read when plugged back in) By the way, I can hear refrigerator is running. I am just trying to determine if this might be on the road to recovery or get help…which on this holiday weekend might be impossible! thanks.

It is possible that it is bad. The specs may have something you can find for a resistance check. I've never herd of the shifter causing the no lock issue before, but its either gonna be lid lock or board. Veryfi that its getting power from the controller. if its powered and not locking then switch, if your seeing drops in power when it should be locked then board.

Have you looked at any fans?

yes if the element gets hot at all its working. So to make sure i understand both elements have continuity, The have voltage, and you replaced the sensor and control board?

@bldn10 Well...... That would certainly cause your problem - Glad you finally got it figured out.

I would still be concerned about those capacitors - I don't think that is glue to hold the capacitor to the board. I think it's the guts of the capacitor that have leaked out possibly).

I have a 4 year old whirlpool wrf555sdfz french door refrigerator. Noticed ice maker not making ice. I changed the water filter, water pressure increased and I was making ice. Then noticed the refrigerator was getting too cold (freezing my beers). Getting to about 25 degrees. I cleaned the coil and fan underneath (I removed front grill and back cover, vacuumed and blew the dust out). I am getting ice bucket temperature of 14 degrees. The bottom freezer is getting a steady temp of -4. I have the refrigerator temp set to 37 and freezer set to -5. The refrigerator temperature appears to be stabilizing around 36 degrees. But getting very little Ice. I read that I need to be at 10 degrees in the ice bucket to make ice. I have read about an issue with the ice maker filler tube freezing up. So I entered diagnostic mode , test 38 (forced defrost) and changed it to "Lo" for long defrost. Also the refrigerator seems to run all the time. I wake up in the morning and its running after the doors have been shut for 7 hours. Let me know if there is something else to try

Waher lid would not lock, so i replaced it with a new one. I read that the shift actuator may be the problem so i changed it as well. when is pluged in the machine the lid lock begian to click on/off and would not start the machine. the last error code showed F5E3 which is a lid lock error. Is it possible that the new lid lock assembly is bad? what shoul i be looking for? thanks for your advice.
