Checked for continuity on that thermal fuse button as well as the wiring that was easily traceable. Nothing was obvious wrong or damaged. I did give a little whack to K4 on the relay board as that is apparently the relay that throws the F34 error. I also removed the display frame and examined the PCB that goes with it. The caps all looked good though there was a fair amount of dirt on the PCB in general. Of course reassembled, nothing had changed. Wondering if the display pcb could possibly throw the F34 error. Seems unlikely, but appliance is not my wheelhouse. as we said, checking all possibilities.

You would think that there wouldn't be a lot going on with an oven's convection fan motor -- and you would be wrong! This Viking convection fan has a number of interesting elements in its circuit that we're going to explore in this post. 1. Is that a 240 VAC power supply for a fan motor? Turns out that you can actually run a fan on 240 VAC if you want to (and if the fan has the proper specs for it). There are even certain benefits to doing so. 2. Not just one, but two capacitors in the motor's circuit. Why are these capacitors there, and how do they work? Well, this fan is a Permanent-Split Capacitor (PSC) motor, which means that it has two windings, but unlike a split-phase motor, both of those windings stay in the circuit the entire time. The capacitor (or capacitors, in this case) are in series with one of those windings, and they are essential to the motor's proper operation. 3. How do the fan speed and position relays work? This circuit is set up cleverly so that, by simply opening or closing a relay, the motor can be run forward or reversed, and at two different speeds. How this is accomplished has to do with the polarization of the power supply and whether one or both capacitors are kept in the circuit. Hi, I am trying to fix a GE Monogram ZISS42DCASS side-by-side fridge where the freezer temperature only gets as low as 5 degrees F, and the fridge only gets to about 45 degrees F, with both of the temperature controls set to 9 (max). I have checked and cleaned the condenser coils and fan - all is good. I have checked the evaporator coils and they are clean with no ice build up. The defrost timer and heaters all seem to work well. The door seals are good and there are no obvious blockages with the airflow. I thought the freezer temperature control thermostat/capillary may be reading the temperature incorrectly. I bought a new part but before fully installing the capillary into the freezer section, I left it in the fridge and powered it on. The compressor ran and the freezer temperature went down to below zero. At that point I stopped and routed the capillary into the freezer section. Unfortunately the freezer then still only went down to 5deg. I then thought that maybe the evaporator fan was not blowing enough. I checked the fan and it blows well. The last though I had was to see if there was air getting to the fridge which is controlled by a capillary/damper. There seems to be adequate airflow in the fridge. After all of this, I am a bit stumped of what to try next. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks, John

I have a 12-year-old Maytag Centennial Washing machine (model MVWC200XW3) that's not leaking or banging but it's very loud on the spin cycle. I Originally posted to Reddit but post got deleted so I reposted it onto here.

I had an appliance repair company come out and troubleshoot. He strongly suspected it was the transmission and advised us just to run it until it dies because it'd be $400+ to get it replaced right now (almost half the cost of a new washer).
