Is the line piercing charging valve only temporary or do you leave those in?

In this case temp. I add ports on any system I touch that doesn't have em already. Except for in home recharges, I leave the piercing valve on then. I'm not dragging torches and vac pumps into somebodys house for a recharge. Gimme a break. You want that leak found and repaired though, that's a different story.
