  1. Hello, I'm becoming super frustrated trying to the find the right parts for my dryer. Hopefully someone out there knows which ones will work. Maytag MDE8400AYW SN: 24070281ET It started out that I simply needed to replace the timer on my dryer because it wouldn't pull to start anymore. I called Maytag parts, and they told me that I needed timer WP33002855, no wiring harness necessary, according to Maytag. So, I ordered it and installed it. The dryer would run, but the timer wouldn't advance, and then it immediately burned out my Dryness Control Board. I did some more research, and called another appliance parts store that told me that I needed timer WP33002808, which required a new wiring harness WP33002809, and a new Dryness Control Board WP33002905. So, I ordered those parts, but immediately noticed that the new wiring harness does not have the correct configuration to plug in correctly to the Dryness Control Board. I've read several places that the correct timer for this model will depend upon the serial number, but it doesn't make sense that the harness won't plug into the Dryness Board. Ideas? Thanks, Robyn A.
