I usually dont work on thermador products, but i have one that has came across my path and want to give it a shot . (im here in the diy section because my free access is through the mst training)

The left two burners on this particular unit are iffy as to when and how they work, from just what one tech has told me they have a feature called "extra low" which is apparantly , according to him, controlled by a module to those two eyes so that the gas and spark can be turned off and on to simmer food more evenly without burning it and that is the suspect part.

Im wondering if anyone has any info on this issue with a thermador gas cooktop or range. I am deciding if i want to take this on.

The only "extra low" I've ever seen has been a small adjustment screw either down the center of the knob shaft or next to it that allows setting the flame size when the control is set for minimum. No idea about anything do do with a spark, except that some cooktops have auto-relighting if he flame goes out.

Thermador may have something different. I hardly ever see thermador and TBH I didn't even know they were still in business.

They do Terry, almost all Thermador gas surface burners the left side burners have the XLO feature.  They run a special spark module, potentiometers instead of spark switches and electronic solenoid gas shut-off valves to left side burners - it cycles the burners ON/OFF for the XLO feature.

You should be able to post in the other forum and then get the manual I believe. Especially if you're going through the training. I think you just have to go through one of the steps in training. @Samurai Appliance Repair Man @Son of Samurai could you explain or point in right direction.
