The frig is leaking water onto the floor in the back right hand corner. I pulled it out and opened up the compressor compartment on the bottom. From what I can see, the water line goes into the filter, then to a splitter/valve component, where the ice maker line goes separately from the water dispenser line. The water dispenser line goes into the fridge compartment (I think) where I assume it gets cold in a reservoir before apparently coming out the bottom of the fridge in a water line that goes to the freezer door hinge into the door to the dispenser. Everything is dry in the compressor compartment and at least the dispenser line valve works fine. From the front of the fridge on the floor I can see the water drip from the line when the dispenser is on.

I recently replaced the water filter and had great difficulty getting the filter up into the housing high enough for the threads to catch and allow me to screw the filter into place. Also, whenever someone uses the water dispenser, it now takes 5-10 seconds for the water to flow. Before the filter change the water started flowing almost instantly. Was it a mistake to prefill the filter full of water before trying to install it?

Is this a water reservoir leak and is it expensive or difficult to fix??

TIA

-Robert

ps. Yes I created a new post earlier today. But this one has the model number in the title and a lot more information about the problem.

Is water leaking inside the fridge? From the filter assembly?    Is it leaking under the freezer door?  Is it leaking at the water line connector  under the freezer door behind the kick plate?   Do you see water trails on the back of the fridge?

You have given lots of information,  but you haven't told us where the leak is,  only where you see water running to and pooling.  You have to be our eyes and ears.  There's nothing we can tell you in order for you to pinpoint the leak,  except to trace the water line,  keep the door switches pressed in with tape etc while looking inside the fridge if necessary in order to keep the dispenser interface active and have someone press the paddle while you are looking/hearing for a leak.   Once you discover it,  we can then assist further.

If forced to guess,  I would say you need another water filter head assembly,  but surely you would have localized that leak.. that's what's not making sense.

Ok, I found and fixed the leak. The polyethylene water line between the valve and the freezer door hinge was discolored and cracked where it ran near the compressor. I cut out the discolored section and joined it with a coupler.
