Whirlpool Cabrio WTW5500XW0 lid lock problem

I tried to start a load and the lid wouldn't lock, I just kept hearing a clicking noise coming from the back. I stripped the washer and started a load with the control panel exposed. Still can't figure this out... :/

Under the main cabinet Front left about 6 inches down and 6 inches from the left, on the inside, you will find a tech manual. Put it in manual test mode and cycle the lid latch on and off a few times.  See if you can get different results.

If you can't get it to lock in manual mode:  First unplug the machine.  Once you have the console open, after unplugging machine, locate connection J15 on the control board.  Check the connection there.  Good and tight?  No= try testing lock again.

Yes= disconnect and measure with a multimeter set to ohms J15 pin 1 to j15 pin 3 should read between 85 to 155 ohms.  If out of that range: replace Lid lock if tests good, replace the control board.

These test procedures are in that manual inside your washers cabinet.

I replaced the lid lock and it works again thanks. But now the washer will cycle loads by itself. For example, if I do a heavy duty load, after it's finished it starts a normal load on it's own. If I dont catch the washer when it's done, I'll have to put it on the spin cycle because it filled back up with water. Any ideas what to do??
