All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological: bidness, customers, tools, troubleshooting, flavorite brewski, whatever. Webcams and microphones are open and live!
This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.
Who: This workshop is only available to tech members at Appliantology.
When: Saturday, May 11 @10:00 AM Eastern Time.
      Where: Online via Zoom

It means you have a broken component in the machine. Time to start diagnosing parts... do you own a meter?

Ok, are you double sure about that failure code? F72 is not in the service manual, but GE has it listed in a generic guide as :  "F7(*) means a broken component in the unit"

I interpret that to mean that you could get F7 (and any number, in this case 2) and it implies a broken element, motor, or sensor.

First, pull the machine away from the wall and UNPLUG IT! I always meter the 240VAC outlet for 120VAC from each live prong to the ground prong. If either side is missing voltage, reset the breaker to see if it restores full 240VAC to the outlet... After that, remove the back metal cover (which may be more than one panel)on the range to expose the wiring to all the elements

When working on an oven, it is always best to test the temp. probes, also called sensors, for their Ohm's resistance. at room temp (75 degrees F)  they should read @ 1100 ohms

There will be an upper oven sensor and a lower oven sensor they will look similar to this: Part number: WB21X22134

Part number: WB21X22134   they are dead center, just beneath the broil elements in each oven. Identify the white plastic "molex"

connector that will attached to two white wires coming out of the insulation between the leads for the broil elements.

After testing the probes, look for any obvious signs of wire damage, burn marks, or anything suspicious, since most of the components we will be testing are wired from the rear... If the probes test ok, it will be time to move on to the elements...

I always go from testing cheaper, physical parts first and expensive electronics are last and only mess with the main board diagnostics if I find nothing, or to test if the error is gone after I replaced a part that failed meter testing...Your F72 code is a tricky one we must approach this way.

Then you can order the PCB with a clear conscience, hopefully it is a plug and play repair from here on out!
