Testing LG LRFC 25750TT Ice Maker

I have installed an new ice maker in an LG LRFC 25750TT Bottom Freezer, French Door Fridge. It does not work.  There is power to the unit and the new water inlet valve checks good. I have heard that you can put the ice maker in a test cycle by putting a paper clip in a small pin hole on the front on the ice maker and pressing the button down for 3 secs.  I tried it but to no avail. Anyone know how  to put the ice maker in the test mode or any other maneuver to check out the ice maker.

Correct Icemaker part number is

5989JA0002U

If the test mode failed---icemaker is "bad".

Doesn't hurt to check condition of wiring in the door hinge...
