Kenmore 41162 Washer - Stacking kit problem - Missing screw holes

Hi. I recently purchased and am installing a Kenmore Washer 41162 and Dryer 91182 and the stacking kit KSTK1. The instructions for the stacking kit seem really simple. Screw the bracket pieces to the back of the washer, then slide the feet of the dryer into place. The problem is, this washer does not have screw holes for the stacking kit!! If you go to Sears.com, you can clearly see the holes in the product photos, but they are not there on our washer. Any ideas?? Should I drill holes? Am I doing something wrong?

Washer: Item # 02641162000P Model # 41162

Dryer: Item # 02691182000P Model # 91182

Stacking Kit: KSTK1

Doesn't seem to be a way to edit posts... weird.

I got the washer model number incorrect (possibly in my frustration):

Just buy some self -tapping screws and hog some holes into the thing!

Velcro tape works for these applications too...

Thanks Hiroshi! So this isn't an abnormal thing? If I had Sears do the install would they have just drilled holes/self-tapping screws?

I woke this morning thinking some industrial double sided tape would do the trick. I'm also wanting to avoid taking the whole thing out of the closet they live. Drilling holes would require that.

If the units lay pretty flat on each other, then velcro around the perimeter of the washer top panel should be sufficient to keep the dryer from being thrown on the floor if the washer goes out of balance...

I wouldn't expect SEARS techs to do anything creative, so NO.

Those are not model numbers, Kenmore models always have a three digit prefix followed by a period, then the rest of the numbers... LG prefix is 795.

They actually are model numbers according to Sears.com and Kenmore.com and the literature that came with the units. I believe these are made by LG, so I guess they would have the 795 prefix:

I have the stacking kit, so it is a matter of attaching the stacking kit to the washer as opposed to attaching the units directly together.

I wonder what the techs would have done? I don't want to do anything to void the warranty. It's so weird the holes are not there.

Just use screws that aren't too long and drill small pilot holes after you line the hardware up... if you place them where you think the holes ought to have been, you should be fine, but if you are worried about the warranty: call and make them come out and do it for free if you can establish that the holes SHOULD have been there, if they are missing it would technically fall under "manufacturer defect," and should be covered.
