Hey Guys,

Samsung Icemaker was not making ice, only thing I found was a thick buildup of ice on the bottom of the cover of the cube tray. Thawed the ice, it filled with water on its own, and while I was checking other things it dumped a load.

Two questions: What would have caused ice build up on the BOTTOM of that plastic cover (almost like stalagmites)? It didnt look like reem frost and I didnt see any anywhere else, besides a small bit of pooled ice below the cover at the bottom of the icemaker assy (near the auger motor). Gasket seemed tight...

And, do you think it could have been a fluke thing and I'm good to go at this point since it filled with water and dropped ice?

I was going to post a pic, but cant see where to do that???

Thanks,

Jared

Also, i could not see how to remove the whole ice maker assy.I mean the box the icemaker, auger and everything sits in. Usually I can figure things out given enough time... If anybody has any tips that would be great. Thanks

Thanks Chat,

I was planning on joining and I actually went to sign up this morning but saw the Samurai has upped the fee to 197 from 149. Dang... I know it will probably still be worth it, but 150 already seemed a little high. Now 200?

Have you greatly benefited from membership? I just want to make sure it will pay for itself. Thanks

I reference the site just about daily for error codes, tech sheets, technical manuals, and to see who else has encountered similar issues and what the solution turned out to be in their case history...

Not to mention the comradotry and helping fellow techs with the same!

If you are a tech. The fee is well worth it.

Chat is correct

It's a no brainer. You will learn so much from this site. There are so many service bullitens on these newer appliances like this one, that make this site so necessary. It is well worth the money. If you get stuck on an appliance you can post questions and thoes familiar with the model or the issue will chime in with there experiance.  You will have access to tech sheets and service bullitens.
