Dealing with an 8 year old Whirlpool French Door fridge.  It's had the drain enlarged and the accessory drain heater installed in the past.  (hasn't been a great fridge...)

Today, no cold in Fresh Food or Freezer.  Fans running, compressor  running.  Big block of ice in Freezer covering the piping before the evaporator.  Any idea what this means?

I can thaw it out, but I am sure it is a symptom of something - trying to get a repair guy out, but can't get one quickly, and very cranky elderly parents hoping it is something simple to fix...

(In my old Sub Zero days, I would guess sealed system problem, but I am a salesman by trade and not the expert on any of this...)
