Manufacturer: Whirlpool
Type of Appliance: Frig
Model Number: ED5KVEXV001
Have you validated the model number at an online parts site like Repair Clinic? (yes or no): Yes
Have you watched the video on how to search for manuals and have you searched the Downloads section prior to posting this request? (yes or no): Yes

I searched for this manual here and mainly found several posts that appeared to be the same thing- long lists I'm serial numbers affected by a common defrost malady and it's attending symptoms. It sounds like this one is working on and off intermittently... I think the defrost must be doing its evil trick.  I would like to have an actual manual if one is available please.

I assume you meant to type ED5KVEXVB01, since the model number you posted isn't valid. In any case, I'm not finding a full manual for this one, unfortunately. But here's the schematic:

And this service bulletin might interest you, considering the problem you're facing:

Thanks Sam. Here''s the number.

Am I missing something?

Ah, I see. It's ED5KVEXVQ01. The bottom of the Q is cut off by the barcode a little bit.

Doesn't matter -- the docs I posted previously apply to this model, too.

Ah... when I look close I can see the difference now even without the tail.

Thank you.

I thought I was certain that I had checked the number out online first.

But I had a half a dozen or so I was needing to do and maybe I got confused.

Some sites will autocorrect common mistakes in model numbers like “Q” and “O”. They’ll come back with the results for the corrected model number and show the correct model number. It’s just one of those tricks to look out for. ?
