All Appliantology tech members are invited to join in this workshop on all things Appliantological: bidness, customers, tools, troubleshooting, flavorite brewski, whatever. Webcams and microphones are open and live!
This workshop is also a great time for any students at Master Samurai Tech to bring any and all questions about the coursework. We're happy to walk through any concepts you're having trouble with. Think of it like office hours with your teachers.
If you have a specific appliance problem you'd like us to talk about, post it here! We need a problem statement and a PDF of the tech sheet or schematic so we can all see it on screen share. If you have a PDF that isn't already in the File library here at Appliantology, send it to us by attaching it to the contact form.
Also, follow this Calendar Event so you'll get notified of new posts here. Look for the "Follow" button either at the top of the topic on desktop or below the topic on mobile.

Grandfather calls and says I’ve had an appliance guy come out to my house and try and fix a leaky fridge and he couldn’t fix it, can you get on that internet and see what you can find....? me after th fact.  So there’s a leak from a water tube that goes to the ice maker, I’ve turned off the ice maker and no more leak, but can’t seem to find the water line for sale anywhere. (I haven’t even taken apart the fridge yet)  The appliance guy told the old man that it’s a metric line no one sells it anymore?!?  So as much as I don’t think that true any help would be greatly appreciated before I go and try and take this thing apart and have to “rig” something up to make it not leak when making ice.  Appliance guy told the old man just go buy a new one this ones junk Kenmore...due to the language involved I won’t tell you what the old man thought of the appliance “repair” guy  and his service.

Thanks in advance,

Shawn

This is a lg refrigerator built for Kenmore . Probably going to have to find someone that specializes in lg to find a tube that will substitute. The appliance guy is probley right , but he should have not taken the call.

Indoor ice maker. Water line likely runs up inside door. Line likely not replaceable.

Fix is new freezer door.
