GE Glass Top Elect Range

I have a GE elect glass top range. M# jp968bc1bb I am getting an error code  flashing the F131 code. This only happens when when the center (small 6 inch elemt is turned on).  I feel that I may need to change the touch pad and contol boad. Has anyone had any experience with this unit, any suggestions????

I've never done this repair on this model, it looks straightforward on this diagram. Looks like a putty knife all the way around awwta do it.

Thanks will try it, I believe that the logic or (not so) smart board is bad.
