2003 Maytag MAH1 Frontload Washer
Washer Spin cycle creates very high noise level. Sound is even and smooth. No screeching or grinding and it seems to spin at proper speed. Everything works fine, its just the sound level, 90+ db.
I suspect a bearing at the back of the tub but wanted to get some feedback before tearing into the unit, and perhaps some guidance. This has been going on for several months.

Thanks in advance.

17 year old washer owes you nothing.

Most likely bearing run it till it dies. Then replace it.

Yep definitely bearings. But I see no reason to replace the machine, give it a try replacing the bearings and seal. There’s nothing like an old Maytag. Plenty of kits and videos how to. Just don’t buy cheap bearings

maybe ?  if it was made before the samsung built washer with the glass door,( by the partial model i'm afraid it is ) BUT even if it was the older mah5500 style , lots of the electronics are nla , no right or wrong here , just to much labor wasted if the control went out soon after for me
