I've got a Kenmore Washer model 110.29522801 will agitate and drain but won't spin. I thought it could be the motor coupler, but the black piece looks to be in perfect condition and the two plastic pieces are not broken or worn. (See images) I connected the motor back to power and ran the spin cycle. The motor moves the coupler without issue.

What I think my issue is(I really have no clue. ha), the transmission won't turn by hand clockwise. It will turn counterclockwise, but not clockwise. Should it turn clockwise? If its not turning clockwise, does this mean my transmission is bad? Is a broken transmission worth fixing?

If you still have the motor out of the unit. Leave wires hooked up and place motor on floor in front of washer frame, protect floor if needed. Bypass lid switch and place in spin mode with your foot holding down motor, it should run.  You can jumper pressure switch and run in agitate mode and motor should run the opposite direction. It is very hard to turn the transmission in the spin direction, you'll need to move the basket to help get it started moving.

Yeah that's what I did. The motor will run in spin direction when out of the unit on its own.

If you can't turn transmission by hand even with helping spin the basket your looking at transmission replacement.

Did you pull basket and make sure nothing caught between tub and basket?

I did not.  Ended up buying a new washer...but this one is sitting in the garage. If its not too difficult to check, I'll check it out because I still might be able to sell it instead of recycling it.
