Follow up on my problem posted above... After the third tear down, I seen my mistake, the seal was installed wrong side in. I flipped it and everything went back smooth. Thanks to everyone involved in this forum group, which helped me start looking at things better.

Could it be a washer/spacer that has eluded your reassembly? Try with out the belt I assume by your statement. Therefore it’s something to do with the way the seal is installed, wrong part, or left something out, or some sediment has taken up a space that was previously unoccupied? Or maybe the bolt is stripped or the bolt hole had a place to stop but now is going in too far?
