Without seeing or listening to it,  it would be hard to say,  but it might be a broken spider in drum,  can you get a video of the problem?

To test yourself, open the door and spin the basket by hand. Any roaring noise would indicate bad bearings. Then push up on the basket, the outer tub can move thats ok. We are looking for loosen of the basket, spin the basket slightly and try another spot, do at least 6 spots, 12 spot would be better.  Any play beyond 1/64" indicates worn bearing or shaft wear. Next carefully look over the area where the basket , tub and door boot are close together. Look for rub marks from the basket on the door boot/tub. rub marks indicate losse bearing or broken spider arm.  Then remove the cabint top and push down on the tub assembly, once you get tub rocking stop pushing. the assembly should go down and come up then stop id the dampers are in good shape.  Next inspect all the concrete counter weight to see if they are loose and in place.

+1 for video
