I have a simplicity dehumidifier  model# 43-5400-6.  it was running fine until a couple months ago. unit approximately  2 years old.  last off the water seemed a little dirty in the reservoir.  i disassembled and cleaned fins which were very dirty and dusty and i checked the humidistat with my digital ohm-meter and it seemed fine.  it still runs and sounds as the day i purchased it.  you can hear the compressor kick in but there is not a stain of water being collected in the reservoir, i left it on overnight and no water to be seen.
