Can't a Brother Have a Little Fun?

Brother Smash recently asked a question about what else we did and then specifically asked about video games. (see http://appliantology.org/topic/52791-what-else-do-you-do/)He made me remember there are more things in life than repairing appliances. Now don't get me wrong, I love being a tech but he made me remember times when I had fun doing other things

So I thought I'd look for some of my old games and maybe relive the days when I battled foes other than refrigerators and maybe also reveal a little about myself while I'm at it:

Thanks to Appliantology I went from enjoying blowings shit up to keeping things working.

Civilization is a great PC game.  It's ok on the Xbox, but not nearly as in depth.  Haven't played it in years though, but I used to spend hours on it.  That and Sim City.

What? No Dance Party? Come on DA. Gots to get the moneymaker movin' and groovin' with the mrs ! ;)

Our daughter has them all. When her friends come over, the living room turns into a dance studio. One thing for sure. Ain't one of 'em got any rhythm :). It is fun(ny) to watch though. Now I got that dang "one diretion" song stuck in my head again.

So does this now mean less time here at night?

Nah dude, I can shake my money maker with the best of them, once you help me stand up that is... lol. As a matter of fact, I actually made money because of my money maker... well sort of..

Believe it or not, old crusty Durham was a campus DJ for 4 years while at UNC... made lots of money . It was a logical decision. I figured I was going to all the parties anyway, why not make money while there? But, as I always do, I studied the craft... charted party excitement level as if on a graph , intentionally created peaks and valleys (a great party is one where folks rush to the floor to dance to a massive hit (peak) keep that excitement level up but don't let it plateau too long (boredom sets in even when the floor is full) .. drop the excitement level by playing a slow song or a minor hit.. people can talk and mingle a bit but don't let it plateau (boredom) . then come back with a massive hit (another floor rush) and play music to appease the women and have a clear, properly volumed sound system. Model worked every time.. didn't even have to talk.

So you see, crusty old Durham hasn't always been crusty and old.... I've earned my crust doing many things... so when you hear me admonish someone for not reading the "damn manual" it's not because I'm some snooty bookworm. lol...

Now go read a damn manual and stop wasting my time!

Ok, finally had a minute to record this video. Not nearly as entertaining as yours, but I didn't have a plan for what I would be saying, and I couldn't think of any creative comments, so there we go!

Lemme know what you think of Skyrim or any other games you play when you have the time! I'm very interested in your review!
