DCS Ranges - Infrared Delayed Ignition or Noisy - Service Bulletin

About This File

MODELS: ALL RG, RGS, & RGT RANGES

Issue – Customer complaint, which may include a booming, banging, or jet engine sound when the infrared broiler burner is operating.

This may be caused by delayed ignition. Delayed ignition can be caused by:

• Low emission hot surface igniter (normal operating amperage will be 3.2 - 3.6 amps (continuity test at ambient 166.5Ω +-)).

• Incorrect gas type and / or gas pressure in the water column to the manifold.

• Wrong orifice size at the burner.

• An incorrect gap between the igniter surface and the screen mesh of the burner.
