  1. Hello Appliantology: My name is Donna. When my last fridge died I saved up and ordered this Frigidaire brand new for $2500. I used it for exactly six years in a household of one and it stopped cooling in 2012. A repair guy told me it needed antifreeze and possibly a motor. I kept it because I wanted to be able to fix it eventually but the time has come to let it go. I want to sell it to a repair guy such as yourselves because I know you can rehab it, make it perfect again and sell it in your shop for top dollar. It still sits in my kitchen in it's place of honor. The reason I am selling a unit I want to keep is to save my free-and-clear home from tax sale THIS MONTH. I only have a very short time to raise the money I need NOT to lose everything that matters. This is my family home. Built by my father who was a working man, jack of all trades such as yourselves. Daddy was a WWII Army vet and he always said this would be his last home and unfortunately it was. Everywhere I look on this property I see his handiwork and his love. I don't think I would survive if I lost it. It is everything to me and all I have left in this life. So I am asking $1500 which will go directly to save my home this month. I am located in Riverside, CA. Please help me save my home. You'll never regret doing this much good as long as you live. I have pictures but cannot upload them. Sincerely, Donna B.
  2. I have a GE profile Fridge (circa 2004), Model PSS26SGRB SS. It gets cold but recently it does not seem that cold. Indicators on fridge say its 0 for the freezer and 41 for the fridge. Had some ice cream melt so doubt both settings. Have set point for each below both values. Cleaned coil this morning which did not change a thing. Any other tips to even start me off ? My biggest concern is that both temps appear wrong but that could be a false alarm. Thanks, Glen
  3. Done everything I can find on this forum and on youtube. LG fridge is staying at 44 degrees no matter what the temperature is set for (currently set for 34 degrees). Freezer compartment is set for -6 degrees, and yet is always at 18 degrees. My readings are from a refrigerator thermometer that has been confirmed as accurate. Also, used a pointed laser reader and found similar temperatures. The coils are slightly dusty, but nothing I would consider "blocked". The compressor seems to be running almost all the time. The house temperature is currently around 78 degrees, but this condition was occurring in cooler weather as well. I have run the test sequence from pushing the button on the mother board. Both fans run at the same rate in test mode as in normal mode, so they seem to be ok. The fridge fan is a slight breeze, while the freezer fan is quite obvious. There is an ice-maker in the left door of the fridge, and there's strong air flow coming from the freezer into it as well. Tough I have noticed sometimes the ice is not super frozen. My first indication that something was wrong was I had ice cream that was basically soft serve. And I noticed putting a beef brisket in the freeze it took more than a full day to freeze solid. Both fidge and freezer compartments are pretty full, especially the freezer compartment. But, I have tried partially, emptying them to see if this improved performance and it didn't seem to matter.
